Miss Texarkana Competition
- Must be a citizen of the United States of America.
- Must be born female, single, never married, have never conceived a child, and be of good character.
- Texas Contestants: Must be a resident of the State of Texas and live within a 150 mile radius of Texarkana for the past six (6) months or a student of an accredited Texas college or University for at least one (1) full semester enrolled in a minimum of twelve (12) semester hours or the maximum required for the degree plan chosen.
- Arkansas Contestants:Must be a resident of the State of Arkansas and must reside, work full-time or attend school in Miller, Pike, Hempstead, Columbia, Nevada, Howard, Sevier, Lafayette, or Little River counties. Students must have successfully completed at least one semester as a full-time (at least 12 credit hours) student, and presently be enrolled and attending classes on a full-time basis.
- Must (a) be at least seventeen (17) years of age at the time of your first appearance in the preliminary round of the local or state competition and (b) be no older than twenty-four (24) years of age on December 31, 2010.
- Must be a High School Senior by the time of your first appearance in preliminary round of the local or state competition and can or will be able to produce a diploma as proof thereof upon request or that you have or will have successfully completed the G.E.D. testing program for high school equivalency and can or will produce proof thereof upon request or have or will have successfully completed the academic requirements for entry into a four year college/degree program.
- If you held a Miss America local title during the 2009 pageant season and either resigned your title or lost your title for some reason, you may not be eligible to compete in a Miss America local pageant again until the 2011 pageant season. Please contact the director prior to entering.
- You may NOT compete in a Miss Texas/Miss Arkansas/Miss America preliminary pageant: If you competed at a local Miss USA pageant for their current pageant year and either won a local USA title or went on to the state USA competition as an "at large" titleholder (paid for the title) for their current pageant year. In this case, you will not be eligible to compete in a local Miss Texas pageant (Miss America) for one (1) complete pageant year.
- Miss America has partnered with the Children's Miracle Network to develop a National Platform. Each contestant must secure a $100.00 donation in her name to the Children’s Miracle Network in order to compete in the local pageant.
- Contestants compete in the following categories: Interview; Swimsuit; Talent; Evening Wear; and On-stage Question.
- Interviews will be 9 1/2 minutes long followed by an optional 30 second closing. There is no opening statement.
- Talent performances are limited to 1 1/2 minutes (90 seconds).
